Digital Preservation Policy

Pactum guarantees the long-term preservation of published content through the following measures:

Persistent identifiers. Each article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), managed by the General Coordination of Research, Postgraduate Studies and Outreach of the University of Guadalajara, which ensures its location even if the journal's URL changes.

Digital preservation network. Pactum participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a preservation network designed specifically for journals that operate with Open Journal Systems (OJS), and whose purpose is to preserve copies of published content independently of the journal's website, guaranteeing its availability in the event of technical failures or website downtime.

Institutional backup. The OJS system files are stored on the University of Guadalajara's servers and are backed up periodically by the corresponding unit.

Supplementary deposit. The journal issues are deposited with the Legal Deposit of the National Library of Mexico, in accordance with the General Law of Libraries enacted in 2021.

File format. The content is stored in PDF format for long-term document preservation, thus avoiding dependence on proprietary software or formats.
